Please be aware that the pool by the T’s and V’s will be unavailable from Monday 23rd September.
We have identified a crack in the liner at the bottom of the pool which requires urgent repair, not least to avoid the cost of lost water. There are also repairs needed to the pool steps.
Whilst the repairs are only expected to take a day we need to empty and refill which will mean the pool will likely be out of use for the full week.
The pools by Los Amigos and the top pool will be available as normal for residents.

Squatters on Playa Bastian

Please be aware that we have had squatters in a property on Zone D.

The police have been present and the squatters have been removed this afternoon.

No other details available.

Hopefully this is an isolated incident but please be aware and vigilant at all times and ensure your property is secure.

General power outage on July 10 from 7.30 to 9.30 a.m. in

The electricity will be cut off throughout the complex for maintenance work on the above date.

ZONE D TV UPDATE

We are pleased to advise that we now have access to 4 UK TV channels. You will need to retune your tv which has to be done by the owners  individually as the committee do not have the know how to cope with such a diversity of technology .

Once you have retuned you will find  them under the following headings –

Kabelia BBC 1

Kabelia BBC 2

Kabelia ITV 1

Kabelia Channel 4

Access to the existing Spanish/German channels is not affected  However there may be a few initial glitches so if after tuning in you still have a problem  please see Maribel in Reception and we will see if it can be rectified.

Zone D Committee.

TV System – UK Channels

Following on from the loss of UK channels after the decommissioning of the satellite and then a successful zone C new TV installation, we have established that we can restore 4 UK channels – BBC1,BBC2,ITV1 and Ch4 on zone D
This work is expected to commence in the next two/three weeks when the new equipment arrives.
Owners will need to retune their TV’s.
However it is important to note that there is no individual technical support for this package and our system is not the same as the other zones, so we still have the potential issue of underground cable failure.
In that event we can repair cables cost effectively then we will consider on a case by case basis.
Once the replacement system is in place we will provide further information as required.

Playa Bastian Committee

Canarian Day

Please be aware that the Playa Bastian reception will be closed in recognition of Canarian day on Thursday and Friday this week.

In addition the maintenance team will be away but the pools will be cleaned and treated as normal.

Full service will resume on Monday 3rd June.

TV Update

We are aware of the situation with Zone C TV, but unfortunately it has taken some time to get factual information. The Zone D system is  different as is the geography. We are trying to arrange a meeting with the technical personnel in the next week or so to find out what option, if any, would be suitable for us. 

TV System Update

After many years of broadcasting the satellite from which we pick up our UK television signal has finally been switched off /decommissioned. This is something we had no knowledge of until it happened last Friday.

Therefore there are currently no UK television channels available on the complex.

We hope to be providing BBC World news and Sky News in the next day or two as a partial solution.

This affects the whole of the Playa Bastian complex and not just Zone D. 

We are investigating possible alternative systems across the whole complex. However, this may take a month or two to resolve as there are technical, financial and logistical issues to contend with.

TV system
It seems that the satellite providing the signal for the community TV has failed. This problem affects all zones and is not limited to zone D.
The problem is being investigated to try and find a solution but at this time we have no indication when the service will be reinstated.

Site Electical Fault

We have a major electrical fault on the complex with the incoming supply to the bottom pool. This circuit also supplies the TV/internet room so until the problem is fixed we also have no community internet or TV.

Unable to give a timescale for resolution but electricians on site investigating.
