TV Re-tuning

Many of you will be experiencing  problems with receiving the English channels on your TV set. This is a result of the Spanish broadcasters adding additional Freeview channels over the last week or so. These additional channels are using a frequency that we use for our English channels and as such have caused interference. We had planned to move our channels in September to pre-empt this, and give ourselves more space away from the Spanish Channels, but unfortunately this has to be done now. We will be commencing with the frequency changes today, and Hedley Smith has kindly agreed to do this. This will mean that your TV will need to be re-tuned to pick up the new frequencies. This is the same procedure that we do in the UK when additional channels are added, using the menu function on your TV remote, and finding auto tune, re-tune or auto setup. The whole process takes a couple of minutes while the TV searches for the new frequencies.

If you have your TV manual, you will find the simple procedure in there. I have also added a link below to a short video which will help explain how easy it is to re-tune.

For those who experience difficulty, Hedley Smith at No.203 will help with the re-tune, but if there are other existing issues with the signal strength, cable problems, etc,  that will need to be dealt with by our cable guy Alex tel: 0034 638 907 845

If you are able to re-tune yourself, but do not have a manual, or  just require a little support, then email Julian at webmaster@playabastian.com. He can then arrange to contact you by phone, or source a manual for you, etc.

For those with a technical interest we are going to be using UHF channels 43 and 44; 650Mhz and 658MHz.
