Das Instandhaltungsteam führt derzeit Reparaturen an Gehwegen durch.

Die Internetinstallation funktioniert mit over gut 50 Benutzer haben sich nun erfolgreich verbunden.

Nach einer Panne in der Hauptwasseraufbereitungsanlage funktioniert das System einwandfrei und die Pflanzen gedeihen mit diesem Wasser. Wir haben weder Geruch noch eine Zunahme der Fliegen festgestellt.

Nach Erhalt der Genehmigungen wurden weitere vier Palmen entfernt.

Das Gerichtsverfahren wurde wegen der Beschädigung der Key Pads am Promenadeneingang durch William Prince Hilton gewonnen. Über 40 Stunden von mir, Vorstandsmitglieder und Luis und die Gemeinschaft haben Zeit vor Gericht und auf der Polizeistation mit diesem Fall verbracht.

Wir suchen derzeit nach Kostenvoranschlägen für die Installation von zwei strategisch platzierten Schlafpolizisten, um den Verkehr auf der Mittelstraße zu bremsen.

Jacque, Fil, Die Familie Cannata und Celia möchten den guten Freunden und freundlichen Gemeindemitgliedern, die Fil während des plötzlichen Schocks nach einem Schlaganfall geholfen haben, herzlich danken. Auch für die ständige Unterstützung und Hilfe beim Transport zum und vom Krankenhaus. Fil erholt sich nun wieder in Großbritannien und unterzieht sich verschiedenen Therapien. Following a recent incident resulting in damage to the promenade gate keypads, the Police were called and an arrest subsequently made. A court hearing has taken place and a further hearing will be held later in January 2013 when I should have more details of the outcome.

Further to discussions with the Town Hall, a registered surveyor has visited the complex to begin to assess the work necessary and costs involved in clearly defining our common parts.

The damaged wall on the main road adjacent to number 63 will be replaced with kerbstones and the recovered volcanic rock used to repair the wall on the opposite side.

The main pipework along row 80 nach 85 has now been replaced, additionally 3 metres have been moved and the supply to the properties renewed.

I notice that a small number of sun loungers appear to be “missing” and would be grateful if owners and their guests would refrain from moving them from the pool areas, Danke.

Picon has been spread on all the Gardens of those owners who requested it.

The plants and shrubs are recovering well following the treatments to eradicate the fungal disease.

We will soon be commencing our annual tree pruning programme.

TV/Internet; Installation of cables and connectors is continuing as several are now old and need replacing. This is a continuing process started approx 3 years ago. Please remember any property in Debt to the Community will not have an Internet Connection.

No instances of any robberies recorded in the Incident Book other than plant thefts from a few gardens. This was extremely upsetting for the owners when they make such an effort.

We will be replacing the damaged Sign adjacent to 4 und 5 with a metal sign.

The mens toilet by Bar Bastian Bar has been damaged and is currently closed.

The Presidents Report is due mid January and will be covering many of the issues dealt with by the Board in 2012.

The Program of Water Pipe replacement continues with the latest run being installed from 80 nach 85.

Hedley Smith kindly restored all TV signals late one Friday after a power cut created by a TV box expiring recently.

Diana and Albert Ridgley of 103T are hosting a Coffee Morning to raise some funds for SARA next Thursday 13^th December at 11:00bin. €2 each to include coffee/tea and biscuits. There are more details on the Notice Board in Reception or enquire directly.

The AGM will be held on 16^th März 2013 at the same venue time as last year.

We have now had two full loads of Picon delivered and spread on gardens as owners requested.

The three Fungicide treatments of our plants and shrubs by Miguel and his team seems to be effective. The general impression is that the gardens are recovering well and looking healthy. The recycled water is working giving plants Nitrogen and assisting growth.

The Pool Heating was switched on at the beginning of the month as normal.

Currently 15 people are on the Internet with 21 due to be connected. In some areas poor quality trunking cable is being replaced. This operation was already in place as Hedley Smith has replaced several hundred meters in the last 3 oder 4 years.

The Internet boxes ordered from Germany by Stefan at CSL are currently in customs on Gran Canaria. Hopefully they will arrive next week and the 21 waiting will be connected. Do not forget to send your money directly to Stefan when arranging your installation with him or the equipment will not be ordered and installed.

The remaining trees by the new store have been removed and new shrubs will be planted. As people ask for existing shrubs to be removed we are replanting them in the area of the Store.

One or two trees need to be removed as they are causing major problems with the sewers and as soon as we are in possession of the permits this will be done.

Miguel’s team have been spraying fungicide on the plants and shrubs for the 3rd time.

The remaining overgrowing trees to the area behind Bar Bastian Car Park have been taken down and cleared away.

Picon has been delivered and is currently being spread on gardens that have requested it.

The ‘Private’ sign between Nos 4 und 5 has been taken out of the ground and destroyed by ‘vandals’.

The Shower at Bar Bastian Pool has been vandalised and a considerable amount of water lost. Thanks to Ann Wibberley, Bungalow 20, for ringing me in the UK and letting me know and I could contact Luis to have it turned off.

The number of owners requesting Internet connection is growing steadily

On Thursday when we had heavy rain the main sewer that runs from Casa Verdes down towards the beach became blocked. This sewer is on our land between the bungalows and the hotel, the blockage flooded the adjacent area. This pipe takes all the sewerage from Casa Verdes. It must also take a lot of the rainwater although it shouldn’t, but according to Luis it was like a river.

Miguel came in during his holiday again and helped free the blockage. As a consequence we are installing extra manholes to help make the next blockage easier to deal with. This is the third time Miguel has interrupted his holiday to help out.

The TV’s also went off on the same day. Some owners are suggesting that this incident is connected to the Internet. There is no connection between the two. The TV’s were down owing to an electrical failure, a completely different problem. The cable has been replaced and the TV’s are now working. The cost to the community is approx. €400.00 plus labour. Part of the reason for this cost is an extension was built over a community cable crushing the ducts.

This is yet another example of sub standard building work being carried out on Zone D and the community picking up all of the bill.

Recycled water is being used on the gardens. Watering at night appears to work better than day time.

We are still having problems with the Beach Gate. The lock has been replaced by a magnetised system. This works well and is vandal proof so now the vandals have sprayed paint over the key pad. Also one of the new signs onto the path to Bar Bastian has been sprayed.

The first tests of our internet access system were completed successfully in late August. We are now installing the operational system into about 6 homes in varied locations across Zone D to test our cables and amplifiers. As long as all goes well with those tests, I am optimistic that we shall have full availability by the end of October.

Lanzarote has been subject to a fungus on plants and shrubs and we have been particularly badly hit. We have purchased a mobile sprayer to treat all of the plants and shrubs. This work should be completed next week.

The Pool guard finished on Sunday 16.9.12 as the children are now back at school.

Hi Installation of the Internet has commenced and may be completed in the next 4 weeks. Information will be sent to the owners early September explaining how to pay the €316 installation fee for the system. Not to be paid into the community account but directly to the Installer. Once the money is paid the equipment will be ordered. The recycled water has been in use since 9.7.2012. A few teething problems i.e. pressure and owners having far to many Jets in their gardens taking pressure from others. Luis is on Holiday for 3 weeks from Monday 13.8.2012 and a replacement has been employed for this period. Reception will be open 9 am to 1 pm. Brian
