i have been asked by John Rand, who looks after our TV and internet, if anyone has a cycling machine he could borrow? John is a serious cyclist and is unable to train while we are under “lockdown”.

Dear Owner,

Events in Spain have overtaken us. Therefore the AGM will have to be postponed.

In addition may I take this opportunity to remind you of the following:

The swimming pools and surrounding areas are closed until further notice.

The maintenance staff are only carrying out essential works

depuis 7am until 10am.

The reception will only be open for the collection of mail

from 9.30am till 11.30am.

La Agencia office is now closed.

The above measures have been taken to comply with new government legislation. Hopefully these measures will only last 15 days.

Owing to the Island now on Lock down the A.G.M. 21.3.2020 has been postponed. When further information from the Government is available we will inform owners.

We are still collecting Proxy’s as it may be possible to use them at a rearranged A.G.M. as the Agenda will be the same as now.

Owing to the Coronavirus outbreak I have considered postponing the AGM.
However, because we have no idea how long the current situation will last
and the necessity for budgets to be approved, official selected and bad debs
collected it will take place.

I understand that many of you will not be travelling to Lanzarote or do not
wish to attend a meeting. Therefore I remind you of your option to give your
proxy to either myself or another owner.

I have attached the proxy form again and if you don’t have a scanner just
take a photo with your mobile phone and send it to me.

In the event that the hotel decides to not permit our presence then other
arrangements will be made and you will be informed of the new venue.

Debido al brote de coronavirus, he considerado la opción de posponer la
reunión anual de propietarios. Sin embargo, debido a que no tenemos idea de
cuánto durará la situación actual y de la necesidad de aprobar el
presupuesto para este ejercicio, así como elegir los miembros que formarán
la junta directiva y continuar o iniciar los procedimientos judiciales de
reclamo de deudas, veo conveniente mantener la celebración de la reunión la
próxima semana como estaba previsto.

Entiendo que muchos de ustedes no viajarán a Lanzarote o no desearán asistir
a una reunión. Por lo tanto, le recuerdo su opción de dar su voto mediante
representación a mí mismo o a otro propietario.

He adjuntado el formulario de poder de representación nuevamente y, si no
tiene un escáner, simplemente tome una foto con su teléfono móvil y
envíemela.

En caso de que el hotel decida no permitir nuestra presencia, se buscará una

Eigentümerversammlung zu verschieben. Da wir jedoch keine Ahnung haben, wie
lange die derzeitige Situation andauern wird und wie wichtig es ist, das
Budget für diese Übung zu genehmigen und die Mitglieder auszuwählen, die den
Verwaltungsrat bilden und das Gerichtsverfahren für Forderungen fortsetzen
oder einleiten, sehe ich Es ist ratsam, das Treffen nächste Woche wie
geplant abzuhalten.

Ich verstehe, dass viele von Ihnen nicht nach Lanzarote reisen oder nicht an
einem Treffen teilnehmen möchten. Daher erinnere ich Sie an Ihre
Möglichkeit, Ihre Stimme durch einen Bevollmächtigten an mich selbst oder an
einen anderen Eigentümer abzugeben.

Ich habe das Vollmachtsformular erneut beigefügt. Wenn Sie keinen Scanner
haben, machen Sie einfach ein Foto mit Ihrem Mobiltelefon und senden Sie es
mir.

Falls das Hotel beschließt, unsere Anwesenheit nicht zuzulassen, wird eine

We have now installed and tested a new internet system. The central installation costs have been covered by the community. As you are all aware technology moves forward at an alarming pace. The existing underground system has been in use for several years and has had its hiccups including condensation and animal problems. It does however, still work and while we can we will continue to support and maintain it.
If however, you would like to be part of the upgrade program onto the new system we can plan a schedule of upgrades over a few months timescale. It iubnvolves fitting a receiver onto the buildings and a cable down to your existing router. The existing Develo connection box will then be redundant.
There is obviously a cost to this which we are keeping to a minimum at €150 each, one off cost.
Anyone not connected can have a new installation at a one off cost of €350.

Palm Tree Removal
On 23.12.2019 we applied to the Ayuntiamento for permission to remove the Weevil effected Trees. On 27.2.2020 we are still waiting for permission.

We have renewed our Annual Contract with Iberdrola for our Electrical needs. The same price as 2019. No increase for 2020.

Speaking with the Tree Surgeon yesterday. It is becoming obvious the problem with Weevils attacking the Trees is more advanced than we had hoped. Currently we are removing 5 Trees with other Trees showing signs of deterioration. The Town Hall Trees along the Promenade in front of Playa Bastian are also experiencing similar problems. Apparently to halt the existing problem the entire Islands Trees need treating at a cost of several million Euros!

Stephen Fahy, Board Member
Stephen has decided after approximate 10 years on the Board to stand down. Steve’s contribution in the last Ten Years cannot be underestimated. At times a thankless task that consumes many hours of work on a voluntary basis. His help to me has been priceless and this is a very disappointing time. Also, Carole, Steve’s Wife has spent many hours helping to produce Paperwork and water dockets, throughout the year, for as many years.

Garden Water
As you know the Garden Water now costs the community 3.50€ per cu.meter. The Maintenance Team have noticed some owners have punched holes in the Pipes so that they have extra water. Should you require extra holes in the Garden Water Pipe please contact Luis and he will arrange for the Gardeners to fit extra Jets for you.
